Overview:
An internal vacancy at a national integrated security services provider, within the Security Technology Division, responsible for installation, maintenance, servicing and troubleshooting of security technology systems.
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- 3-5 years' experience within the security technology industry
- PSIRA registration and valid driver's licence
- Experience with IP-based security systems and network configurations
- Certifications in security systems such as Gallagher, Arteco, Hikvision, Dahua or similar
- Able to read, write and communicate effectively in English
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
Strong technical knowledge of CCTV, alarm systems and access control technologies; experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting security systems; good understanding of networking, electrical and computer systems related to security technology; excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; strong attention to detail; able to work independently and in a team; effective communication and customer service skills; able to work in physically demanding environments including climbing ladders and handling equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and configure CCTV, alarm, access control and other security systems
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on security technology equipment
- Diagnose and resolve technical faults (wiring, sensors, surveillance systems, related equipment)
- Assist with system upgrades and enhancements
- Perform onsite technical repairs, ensuring effective service delivery
- Test and calibrate security systems for optimal functionality
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, maintenance and service reports
- Provide professional customer service and technical support to clients
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards, policies and procedures
- Take responsibility for company vehicles, tools and equipment allocated for daily duties
- Monitor, record and complete daily tasks as required
Working Conditions:
Full-time with potential overtime; availability for evenings/weekends when operationally required; regular travel to client sites and field-based work.
