Senior Service Technician – Security Technology

Overview: An internal vacancy at a national integrated security services provider, within the Security Technology Division, responsible for installation, maintenance, servicing and troubleshooting of security technology systems. Requirements: - Grade 12 - Minimum 3 years' experience as a Senior Technician within the electronic security industry - PSIRA registration and valid driver's licence - Proven experience installing, maintaining and repairing electronic security systems - Gallagher Access Control Certification essential - Able to read, write and communicate effectively in English Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of CCTV systems, access control systems, perimeter protection solutions, gate motors, alarm systems, intrusion detection systems and electrical/electronic security principles. Skills & Competencies: Advanced fault-finding and diagnostic abilities; strong technical troubleshooting skills; able to read/interpret technical drawings and manuals; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong customer service orientation; effective time management and organisational skills; able to work independently and under pressure; strong attention to detail and problem-solving; high accountability, integrity and reliability. Performance Measures: System reliability and uptime; first-time fix rate; achievement of client/company SLA requirements; customer satisfaction ratings; compliance with safety/regulatory standards; accuracy and timeliness of service documentation; effective management of company vehicles, tools and equipment. Working Conditions: Full-time with potential overtime; availability for evenings/weekends when operationally required; regular travel to client sites and field-based work.
